I am a mom to rambunctious boys, a wife to a nomad-at-heart, and owner of a spirited golden retriever named Grizz Lee Crawford. My guilty pleasures include paddleboarding, trail running, snowshoeing and exploring National Parks with my clan in our Four Wheel Camper.
When I was a young mom with a two- and five-year-old boy, I paid a lot of money for a family photo session to get that perfect Christmas card picture for my holiday cards. At that time, I believed a "perfect family photo" required everyone to be impeccably dressed and flawlessly posed, smiling at the camera. When I got those photos back, I was heartbroken. The gallery was
full of photos of my husband and me visibly stressed,

trying to control our constantly-in-motion boys. The one photo of us with everyone looking at the camera looked awkward and forced with my boys looking like deer in headlights. It dawned on me then the photos that I cherished most, the ones I wanted to hang on my walls and share, were the photos that captured my boys digging in the sand, wading through the water, searching for insects and skipping rocks. These photos captured their personalities, their curiosities, their pureness. And in the end, these photos are the only thing I can hang on to when they are grown. So now I capture them wild. And I can do the same for you. What better studio to do it in than the beautiful great Northwest?
